Willoughby City Council is proposing to reclassify the land it owns at Northbridge Plaza car park from Community to Operational Land and is seeking feedback from the community. This applies to the council-owned car park behind Northbridge Plaza on Eastern Valley Way and the vacant former Baby Health Clinic building within the car park.

Council wants to reclassify the land to allow more flexibility in how it’s managed. If the land is reclassified, council would then be able to commence wider discussions about how the land could be used in the future; if the land is not reclassified, the land will continue to function in its current form as potential opportunities for investment and renewal would remain limited by the current restrictions on the land.

Reclassification would not permit the land to be redeveloped without further community consultation.

If you would like to have your say, read the Planning Proposal documents on the council’s website and provide a submission either by completing the online form or emailing or posting a letter to council. Submissions close on 19 August.

There is also a public hearing about the proposal being held by an independent facilitator on Wednesday 24 September from 6.30pm to 8pm at Northbridge Golf Club.
