Surf Life Saving Clubs across the Manly Electorate are set for major upgrades following significant funding from the NSW Government’s 2024-25 Surf Club Facility Program.
Dee Why, North Curl Curl, and North Steyne Surf Life Saving Clubs were announced as successful recipients. Member for Manly, James Griffin, welcomed the funding, highlighting the importance of supporting local volunteers.
“The Manly Electorate is home to some of the best and busiest beaches in the country, and our dedicated surf lifesaving volunteers…deserve to have the resources they need to keep our beaches safe,” Mr Griffin said.
Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club will receive $215,425 to upgrade bathroom and changing facilities. North Steyne will receive $181,583 for urgent building upgrades, while North Curl Curl has been awarded $98,738 to renovate its wet area and bar.
Mr Griffin praised the Surf Club Facility Program for ensuring clubs have “modern, safe and fit for purpose” facilities.
The Surf Club Facility Program is offering $5.4 million in total funding across NSW this financial year, with grants of up to $1 million available. It is administered by the NSW Office of Sport to strengthen community participation and improve beach safety.
