The votes for the 2023 Westfield Local Heroes are open, and Westfield Chatswood and Westfield Warringah Mall have $30K worth of grants to give back to the community.
Westfield Local Heroes are nominated and voted for by their communities. The finalist with the most community votes will become the Westfield Chatswood or Westfield Warringah Mall Local Hero for 2023, receiving a $20,000 grant for their representative organisation. The remaining finalists will receive a $5,000 grant for their organisation.
Westfield Chatswood has named Ceiny Maybury from Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney, John Lui from The Shepherd Centre for Deaf Children, and Rachael Bowen from Giant Steps Australia as the three local finalists for this year’s competition voted by the community.
The finalists for the Westfield Warringah Mall Local Hero for 2023 are Michelle Mott from Be Centre Foundation Limited, Tim Hewson from Mongrels Men and Vanessa Karakas from Women and Children First.
In its 6th year, Westfield will award 126 grants across Australia and New Zealand – totalling $1.26 million. The Westfield Local Heroes program will have contributed $7.395 million to more than 720 successful Local Hero organisations since it began.
Voting is open until 11 September.
