The 2023 Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize received a record-breaking number of entries by attracting 2042 entries this year, a 32% increase compared to 2022 with artists from across Australia competing for a piece of the $47,000 prize money pool.

This is the highest number of entries received by the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize in its seven-year history. The Prize now receives over 2.5 times more entries than the Archibald Prize, reaffirming the demand and need for the Art Prize to raise the profile of women artists.

The judging process will be led by Prize Patron Jennifer Turpin, an environmental artist who has created award-winning public domain artworks at the interface of art, science, nature and environment for over 20 years.

The finalists will be exhibited in a two-week Exhibition of Finalists from 13-28 May 2023 in Sydney. The winners will be announced during the Opening Night on 12 May 2023.
