Following the Matildas’ breathtaking win over France in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 quarter-final, Northern Beaches Council will open Cromer Park (see map here) on 16 August night to screen the semi-final. Families and friends are welcome to bring their picnic rugs.
The Matildas will face England at Stadium Australia, kicking off at 8:00pm. Cromer Park gates will open at 7pm, and it is recommended to flat shoes (no heels) and bring your own meal or picnic as no food will be available on the site. Keep in mind that no glass is permitted.
Northern Beaches Mayor, Cr Sue Heins, says this is an excellent opportunity to watch the match in a community atmosphere.
“The match is already a sell-out, and this site will give our community a chance to come together to support our amazing Matildas,” mayor Heins said.
