Former professional Rugby League player Shannon Nevin is relaunching his successful community event, Walk ‘n’ Talk For Life, to celebrate its new status as a charitable organisation combating depression and suicide.

The foundation aims to reduce mental illness stigma and suicide rates in the Northern Beaches and beyond.

Since its establishment in 2016, Walk ‘n’ Talk For Life has connected communities and provided a safe space for open discussions about mental health.

To celebrate its new charity status, the foundation will relaunch its inaugural Manly event on Sunday, 9 July. Participants can enjoy a scenic walk from Manly Lagoon to Shelly Beach and back, engaging in meaningful conversations while appreciating the natural beauty.

The event will include a complimentary BBQ and a Walk ‘n’ Talk For Life t-shirt.

The foundation’s mission is to rewrite the narrative surrounding mental health and eliminate stigma by promoting collective walking and talking.
