Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has invited the community to comment on proposed works to the Wakehurst Parkway, which aim to improve safety and travel time on the road, which is synonymous with congestion and accidents.

TfNSW has prepared a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) and a Biodiversity Development Assessment Report (BDAR) for the proposal, which conveys possible environmental, social, economic and cumulative impacts during construction and operation.

The project will include, but is not limited to, the widening of the Parkway southbound between Trefoil Creek and Dreadnought Road to add an extra lane and to the west of the northbound lane from Dreadnought Road to Oxford Falls Road to provide an additional lane in each direction. Other improvements include extra turning bays, slip lanes and bus bays.

For information on the project, the REF is on exhibition until 6 December and can be viewed on the TfNSW website. The community will have the opportunity to meet the project team on Thursday 16 November from 3pm to 6pm at Oxford Falls Peace Park or on Saturday 18 December from 10am to 2pm at Bilarong Community Hall in Narrabeen.

Following the consideration of feedback, construction is set to begin in 2024 and the project will take about two years to complete.

The community can email northplace@transport.nsw.gov.au with feedback.
