The Taronga Zoo Wharf upgrade works are now underway. The development started with minor operations on 21 March and a major construction is expected to commence from Tuesday 18 April.
NSW Government has proposed to improve Taronga Zoo Wharf as part of the Transport Access Program.
Some key features of the enhancements will include a new covered ramp from the street-level to the gangway entrances; realigned kerb, fence, footpath, and bus stop bay to meet the new ramp; new wayfinding signage; a new covered waiting area; and repairs to the existing jetty.
During the time of construction, the western berthing face of the wharf will be closed for the new ramp to be built.
The construction work to upgrade the wharf is expected to take about six months to complete depending on weather conditions.
The timetable for ferry services to Taronga Zoo Wharf on the F2 route will remain unchanged.
