The Australian charity Royal Far West’s celebrated another successful ‘Ride for Country Kids’, with 48 riders clocking over 400km and covering an impressive 7000 vertical metres by raising over $273,000 for country children.
The funds raised from the event that took place on 12 –14 March, will go towards vital health and developmental services in rural and remote communities, to help transform the lives of Australia’s country kids.
Riders had to complete a route through the Snowy Mountains, from Cooma to Lake Hume Village, with stops in Thredbo and Tumbarumba. The ride was finalised at the wonderful All Saints Primary school in Tumbarumba for breakfast put on by the Lions Club, which was a brilliant opportunity for the kids and riders to interact.
Since its foundation nine years ago, the Ride for Country Kids has raised over $3 million for kids and their families.
