North Shore locals are on track to save thousands of dollars per year on power bills, following the instalment of Willoughby council’s solar power bulk buy program.

Over 14 months, Willoughby residents have installed 69 rooftop systems using the program, with the long-term approach of moving towards net zero emissions.

Naremburn local, Leo Panaych is currently on track to save up to $5,000 per year on his bills and says he has completely embraced solar energy.

“It will help reduce your power bills, especially in the current environment where prices are going up,” Mr Panaych said.

“In the future, once the installation is paid off, you will see even greater savings.”

Council’s solar bulk buy program is one of a suite of measures to help the North Shore community reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent before 2028 and achieve net zero emissions by 2040 or sooner.
