Retirement by Moran has lodged a $144.2 million State Significant Development (SSD) with the NSW Government for a retirement living complex at 156 Ocean Street in Narrabeen.
The five- to six-storey retirement village would have 149 independent living units and extensive resident amenities including a fitness centre, a 25 metre in-door heated swimming pool, cinema, temperature-controlled wine-cellar, infra-red sauna, library, lounge and a rooftop terrace with a pavilion for entertaining.
Large areas are allocated to communal landscaped gardens as well as private courtyard gardens. The complex will also provide on-site care services with 10 private care-beds and the availability of care to be delivered directly to apartments so that all residents can live independently for as long as possible. Three levels of basement parking would accommodate 192 vehicles, including seven visitor spaces.
Subject to approvals the estimated commencement of construction to be mid-2026, with completion anticipated for mid-2028. The proposal is open for submissions on the NSW Government’s major projects site until 5 November.
