An innovative charity outlet, Resilience Circle, was opened by the not-for-profit Women’s Resilience Centre (WRC) at 1761 Pittwater Road, Mona Vale, at a special VIP event on 23 November.
Beaches Mayor Sue Heins cut the ribbon and celebrated the opening with WRC’s founder and CEO Simone Allan and Chair & Director Ann Whitelock, Wakehurst MP Michael Regan and Pittwater MP Jacqui Scruby.
Resilience Circle offers a curated selection of homewares, gifts, and fashion but importantly, serves as a welcoming support hub: ‘A place to get a little and give a little.’
“We are incredibly proud to launch this space on the Northern Beaches, where people can feel safe, welcome and empowered to contribute to the community’s healing,” said Ms Allan.
“Whether needing a compassionate conversation, information about recovery services, or advice on accessing mentoring programs, trained trauma-informed staff are on hand so individuals can feel welcome, supported, and understood.”
“Every purchase made or donation to our store directly helps provide critical services, resources, and support to those in need,” said Ms Allen.
Since its inception in 2020, the WRC has helped 507 women across 83 regions of Australia, 20% of those women from the Beaches.
Trading hours are 10am to 4.30pm Mon to Fri and 9am to 1pm Sat.
The Resilience Centre invites the community to an open day event on Thursday 5 December from 3pm to 5pm.
