Northern Beaches council has announced the recommended funding for project applications under the community development grants across the Northern Beaches.
It is understood the grants are an important part of council’s role in supporting the social services sector, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable in the Northern Beaches community.
With a total of $155,000 in grants being recommended, community projects across Pittwater including One Eighty Avalon has been allocated the suggested amount of $10,000 for its project – open up Northern Beaches: peer support groups for youth mental health.
Lifeline Northern Beaches has also been recommended $9,852 in funding for its project – counselling for victim survivors with the Northern Beaches domestic violence response innovation (NBDVRI), while Business Education Network has been recommended $10,000 for its Nuu E Tasi project.
Following approval, council say program funding will be distributed as soon as practicable and grant funded projects are to be completed by 31 December 2023.
