Inquiries are underway after a man drowned in Mosman on Good Friday.

At about 10:20am, emergency services were called to Middle Head Point following reports of a concern for the welfare of a man in the water. Officers from North Shore Police Area Command attended and, with assistance from Surf Life Saving NSW, Marine Rescue, NSW Ambulance paramedics and Marine Area Command, commenced an operation to locate the man. A short time later, a body was located in water nearby.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe the man was on rocks when he fell into the water.
Investigations into the incident are underway and any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are urged to come forward.

This incident comes alongside what is the worst spate of drownings for the Easter Long Weekend in NSW on record, with seven people across the state losing their lives.
