Police are appealing for information following reports of projectiles being thrown at buses on the Northern Beaches.
Police were alerted around 1.50am on Saturday, 9 November 2024, that a large rock was thrown at a southbound travelling bus travelling along Burnt Creek Deviation, Balgowlah
Though no major injuries occurred, the bus driver was left with minor wounds from the incident, however the bus was left with a shattered windscreen and needs to undergo repairs.
Police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with assistance from officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command.
Following inquires, it was revealed to police that this was not the first incident in this location that saw projectiles thrown at B-line buses. Two north bound buses had also been struck in two separate incidents on Thursday 8 November 2024 and 1.30am on Friday 9 November 2024. At the time, neither incident had been reported to the police.
Early inquiries suggest that these three incidents are likely linked.
As the investigation continues, police are releasing images of the incidents and urging anyone with information, including dashcam vision or CCTV to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
