The Northern Beaches local planning panel has recommended that a development application for alterations at 8 Baroona Road, Church Point be rejected.
The application for alterations and additions to a house included a swimming pool, at an estimated cost of $975,000.
The application was referred to the panel as the development was considered contentious, with 15 submissions objecting to the proposal.
The main concerns raised in the objections were predominantly related to view sharing, visual privacy, character of the area, solar access, traffic, parking, and biodiversity impacts.
The application assessment report found that the development was an overdevelopment of the site which resulted in an unacceptable built form with impact upon adjoining properties.
