Northern Beaches Council is seeking public feedback on a proposal to add eight additional electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the area. The proposal is currently open for public exhibition until 23 July.
In collaboration with Ausgrid, Transport for NSW, and Council, JOLT, a Sydney-based private company, plans to install free public charging stations across various locations from Seaforth to Palm Beach. Renewable sources will power these stations and will hold Green Power accreditation.
EV owners will be able to charge their vehicles for up to 15 minutes at these stations.
JOLT’s long-term vision is to deploy 5,000 charging stations across Australia within the next 5 to 10 years. The Northern Beaches area is already witnessing rapid growth in EV adoption, with over 20 charging locations currently available and more in development.
