The Northern Beaches Council is calling on locals to nominate their unsung ‘Eco-Heroes’ for the Northern Beaches Eco Awards.

The awards are designed to acknowledge outstanding environmental and conservation achievements by individuals and groups that have worked to protect the region’s unique natural environment.

Entries can be submitted until 14 May across eight categories including Caring for our Bushland, Waterways, Coast, and Native Animals, as well as awards for Sustainable Resources, Sustainability & Climate Change, and Individual Achievement.

Two Individual Achievement Awards will be presented in the Youth (16-25 years) and Lifetime (25+ years) categories. Mayor Michael Regan encourages the community to participate, adding that the region’s natural environment is one of its best assets.

Nominations must have been carried out in the Northern Beaches local government area in the past two years, with the exception of the Lifetime Achievement Award. More information and the nomination form are available on the Council’s website.

Entries close at midnight on 14 May 2023.
