If re-elected, a NSW Liberal Government would provide Northern Beaches patients better access to renal dialysis by establishing a dialysis service at Mona Vale Hospital thanks to a $6.34 million commitment.

Liberal candidate for Pittwater Rory Amon welcomed the announcement and said that for renal patients having a new dialysis service in Mona Vale will be a great support.

“The number of patients on dialysis keeps going up, not just in NSW but across Australia, and a re-elected NSW Liberal Government will provide this additional dialysis service to help meet demand here in Pittwater,” Mr Amon said.

The $6.34 million five-chair renal dialysis service would be in addition to the 12 chairs already at Northern Beaches Hospital and five chairs at Royal North Shore.

In Australia, around 2,500 people are newly diagnosed with renal failure, more than 10,000 people receive renal dialysis, and 8000 people are living with a transplanted kidney each year.
