Hotelier Glenn Piper is expanding his NSW portfolio and has acquired the iconic Commodore Hotel in McMahon’s Point.
The pub, located on the edge of the North Sydney commercial district and in the centre of McMahon’s Point shopping village, has been a local institution for over 169 years.
Mr Piper will be busy getting to know his new acquisition over the next few months, familiarising himself with the venue and surrounding area.
He is planning to begin refurbishments as soon as he gets the keys in August. Mr Piper says he will ensure that any changes maintain the legacy of the historic pub.
“I am honoured to continue the Commodore’s long legacy and excited to have the opportunity to elevate it into something really special that reflects the community today,” Mr Piper said.
Mr Piper is well-known in the property business. He transformed Freshwater’s Harbord Hotel in 2020 and in 2022 he took on the leasehold of Q Station on the headland of the Northern Beaches.
