Member for Manly James Griffin has welcomed the Perrottet Government’s funding boost to critical support services for the thousands of domestic violence victims across the state.
With funding for 39 new refuges in total, the new Northern Beaches refuges will be delivered by Women’s Community Shelters Limited and Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter.
Mr James said once delivered, it will scale up vital support for women and children across the Northern Beaches.
“These homes provide greater capacity [on] the Northern Beaches for safe, private and independent living spaces for victim survivors and their children,” Mr Griffin said.
“I committed to secure additional services for the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter, and as Patron I am so proud to see this additional funding for our area.”
Minister for Women’s Safety and the Prevention of Domestic Family and Sexual Violence Natalie Ward added that the new refuges will also provide access to critical services such as counselling, legal assistance and further education.
