Mosman Council is launching a new program to improve mental health awareness and skills among high school students in years 10 to 12.
The course will be facilitated by accredited Mental Health First Aid trainers and aims to give teenagers the skills to recognise and support their friends experiencing mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression, alcohol, drug use and eating disorders, and to seek help from adults and support services.
The sessions are fully subsidised by Mosman Council and will be held on Tuesdays on 9, 16 and 23 May from 4:30p at the Mosman Youth Centre.
