The NSW Government has announced that Narrabeen Sports High will receive a new Performing Arts Hall, in addition to upgrades already underway.
This new hall, announced on 11 April, will include seating for up to 500 students, two acoustically treated music rooms, and a smaller performance space to support dance and other creative arts.
Until now, the school has relied upon off-site venues to support performing arts activities, and students expressed excitement over the announcement.
This new addition joins other developments on campus, including renovated technology rooms, a refurbished science lab, and new roofing across large sections of the school.
This announcement comes with the State government’s pledge of $8.9 billion to improve schools across the state, with education minister Prue Car stating, “These improvements strengthen schools as community assets that serve local families and foster student success across generations.”
Adding to this sentiment, member for Pittwater Jacqui Scruby said “I thank the NSW Government for its collaborative approach and commitment to the arts—it will have a lasting impact on this school and our region. This was the culmination of community action and advocacy of the P&C and will help our kids be shining lights on stages for years to come.”
