Get ready to reward your palate with a taste of Mudgee as its Wine and Food Festival is back on the Lower North Shore.
After a three-year hiatus, the best wine and food from Mudgee is returning to the Lower North Shore on 13 August, with the long-waited Mudgee Wine and Food Festival.
Come along to enjoy the finest drops from over 20 Mudgee wineries and a stellar line-up of producers that will bring the region’s flavours to Balmoral Reserve. Balmoral will be transformed into a haven for foodies looking to expand their senses and indulge them in a delightful afternoon of food and wine tasting.
Deborah Clear, president of the Mudgee Wine Association which organises the event, said the region’s cellars are looking forward to returning to Balmoral. Deborah says it is ‘an excellent opportunity’ for residents to taste the latest drops from their favourite Mudgee cellar doors.
“This year’s event is set to be a day of award-winning wine and delicious produce, celebrating the culinary delights of the region. Our cellar doors have produced some incredible vintages this year, and we’re excited to share them with Sydneysiders,” Deborah said.
“The Lower North Shore has always welcomed the Mudgee wine region with open arms, and with a truly stunning backdrop to taste award-winning wines, the annual Mudgee Wine and Food Festival at Balmoral is always a stellar event.”
And there will be fun for everyone. Children will have various activities to enjoy, including face painting and a designated art space to set free their imaginations.
Attendees can secure a signature 2023 tasting tumbler and tasting tokens ahead of the day, and a free shuttle bus to and from the event will be available for those who need it. The route and times for the shuttle bus will be announced closer to the date on the organiser’s website and social media.
‘Bring your own’ cups are strictly prohibited for this event, and the wine-tasting packages are exclusively for individuals aged 18 and above.
According to Deborah, this festival is also an invitation for Sydneysiders to visit Mudgee and explore the beauty and flavours of the region.
“Located just a three-hour drive away, Mudgee is the perfect spot for a weekend trip. The festival is an opportunity for us to give Sydneysiders a little taste of Mudgee – and encourage them to book a trip and visit our many cellar doors, restaurants and shops for themselves!” Deborah added.
Entry is free, and wine-tasting ticket prices start at $40. Buy tickets at: 123tix.com.au.
