Local resident Hannah Maude has partnered with Mosman Mayor Ann Marie Kimber to address a critical issue: women adopt AI tools at 25% lower rates than men, despite Australia being positioned to benefit significantly from AI technology.
The “Women+AI Breakfast” scheduled for Thursday, 5 June from 9am to 11am at Mosman Rowers Club aims to connect female business leaders and build AI literacy.
Harvard research shows women represent just 25% of AI app users and tend to feel less confident using AI tools.
“There is great personal and economic opportunity when it comes to AI. I think it’s important we demystify AI whilst talking about the risks as well. We need women shaping the future,” said Hannah.
Mayor Kimber believes the event offers more than networking. “We have many phenomenal business leaders in our community. With AI, we have a unique opportunity as women to embrace this technology and ensure it’s used for good,” Mayor Kimber said.
The breakfast represents a crucial step toward ensuring women are active participants in, rather than bystanders to, the AI revolution that could boost Australia’s economic output by nearly 15% over the next decade.
