Jacqui Scruby, the Member for Pittwater, has welcomed the Albanese government’s $250 million commitment to complete the Mona Vale Road West Upgrade, a vital step in addressing the notorious bottleneck on the Northern Beaches. Scruby, alongside federal MP for Mackellar, Dr Sophie Scamps, has been ‘tirelessly’ advocating for the completion of the 3.4-kilometre stretch of road from Ingleside to Terrey Hills.

“As our number one priority, Dr Scamps and I have worked relentlessly lobbying both state and federal governments for a commitment to complete this road,” said Scruby.

According to the local members, the upgrade is crucial for the safety of local residents and commuters. Scruby highlighted that the completed road will provide four continuous lanes from Mona Vale to Pymble, easing congestion and improving safety.

“Independents deliver for their communities,” Scruby remarked, urging the NSW government to match the federal funding in their upcoming budget.

“I’ve taken the Premier to visit Mona Vale Road, and he understands its significance,” she added.

Federal MP for Mackellar Sophie Scamps, joining her state counterpart in celebrating, stated, “I’m sure this will be very welcome news for everyone on the Northern Beaches.”
