Earlier this month, the Rotary Club of Brookvale and the Rotary Club of Dee Why Warringah merged to become simply the Rotary Club of Warringah.
Warringah, chosen as the original Rotary Club of Warringah, was the “mother club” for both the Rotary Club of Dee Why and the Rotary Club of Brookvale.
While all those clubs have proud histories – and any of their members would gladly tell you about ALL the work they have done in the past 70+ years – the new club is future focused.
Their first event is on Saturday 1 April, a ‘Comedy for a Cause’ evening at the Manly Leagues Club in Brookvale.
Featuring comedians Peter Berner, Simon Kennedy, Bruce Griffiths and Bec Melrose, the show starts at 8pm.
Dinner is available in the club’s bistro prior.
While the evening should provide lots of laughs, it is in aid of a very serious cause: to raise funds for Women and Children First, a local organisation which supports families, women and children escaping domestic violence.

The Rotary Club of Warringah has also taken over organising the Beach2Beach Fun Run, to be held on Sunday 27 August 2023.
This year they have joined forces with the Manly Fun Run, to be held on 7 May and organised by the Rotary Club of Manly.
There is a 20 per cent discount if you register for both events, and this package is only available until 7 May.
When it comes to the Beach2Beach race, the Rotary Club of Upper Northern Beaches organises the Finish Festival at Newport Beach.
This provides refreshments for runners and their friends and families to wait for them to arrive at the finish line and stay on for the presentations.
There are many more events and projects in the planning stage by all the Rotary Clubs on the Northern Beaches – Balgowlah, Belrose, Manly, Upper Northern Beaches and Warringah.
