Royal Motor Yacht Club’s relationship with Gotcha4Life goes back to 2023 when they first collaborated on the Beach2Beach Fun Run. Since then, RMYC Broken Bay has championed Gotcha4Life’s causes, hosting R U OK? days and donating over $8,000 to support mental fitness initiatives.
In a nod to Gotcha4Life, RMYC is holding a floating music festival called Raft Up 4 Life on 8 March, with all profits going to Gotcha4Life.
Tell us more about the floating stage!
‘The Pearl,’ RMYC’s floating pontoon, will be the festival’s main stage featuring a number of live acts.
Anyone with a boat can moor for an entry fee.
RMYC marketing manager Emma Hunter says the floating stage will create a perfect vibe on the water. “For those of us who appreciate good food as much as good music, there will be a floating prawn and oyster bar delivering fresh seafood right to the boats. It’s set to be an incredible day of music, food, and community in a spectacular bay setting.”
RMYC already supports the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter, and wanted to expand RMYC’s support for mental fitness, Emma explains.
“Raft Up 4 Life allows us to raise awareness that helps those around us, bringing both men and women into focus. It will be a great day out on the water, raising funds and awareness for an important cause.”
