Spring is coming, and it’s time for the North Shore to come alive and ‘emerge’ from winter with a wide variety of outdoor activities, music and fun for the whole family at the Emerge Festival.
From 1 September to 13 October, enjoy six weeks of arts, culture and entertainment showcasing the diverse creativity of Willoughby with a mixture of free and ticketed events run by Willoughby Council and community organisations.
With over 30 events, there’s something for everyone.
The StreetFair is the showcase event of the Emerge Festival and will be held on 7 September, 10am to 6pm in the heart of Chatswood. Main streets will be closed off with more than 120 stalls, a colourful community parade, entertainment stages, and many more activities that will receive thousands of visitors.
Party with the crowds at the Matsuri Japan Festival, get entranced by magical performances and musicals or attend smaller intimate activities like bushwalks and workshops. This year there will also be new and exciting events such as the HongKonger Market, the Northbridge Baths Centenary Celebrations, and Guards at the Taj, a black comedy at The Concourse.
Run by Willoughby City Council since 1997, the festival grows each year with new events and attracts over 100,000 people from all over Sydney.
