Private vehicle transport is a major source of greenhouse gas emission, Mosman Council is inviting the uptake of electric vehicles with the installation of charging stations in public locations.
The sites and suppliers are selected based on service offerings and Council’s view on demand for services. Council generally charges an occupancy fee to the charging station provider per public parking space.
There is one public charging stations located in Mosman Square Car Park (50 kW DC, Evie Networks), and two more in Raglan St West Car Park (50 kW DC, Evie Networks).
Smartphones are provided in each charging station to conduct the charging transaction. Any issue occurring within Mosman should be first addressed with the station provider.
The locations of chargers can be found on PlugShare and Google Maps.
Council does not arrange for charging stations to be built on private property, but it intends to mandate that significant development works must be ready to be equipped with electric vehicle charging points.
