Manly Warringah Sea Eagles has appointed Jason King as the Club’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr King’s appointment follows the resignation of Tony Mestrov, who will step down from the role on 19 December. Mr King is a premiership-winning Manly prop and former Club Captain and has made 239 appearances across 14 seasons for the Club, 217 with Manly and 22 with the Northern Eagles.
Since he retired as a player in 2014, he has been working in rugby league administration, occupying senior roles at the NRL for over ten years. Mr King currently works as a solicitor and is executive general manager of legal, integrity and risk at the NRL.
Sea Eagles chairman, Scott Penn, is thrilled to have Mr King as CEO.
“Jason is an accomplished NRL administrator bringing 10 years’ experience to the Sea Eagles,” Mr Penn said.
“As a past captain, playing over 200 games for the Club makes Jason the perfect candidate to bring the Sea Eagles new strategic plan to life.”
Mr King said it was ‘an incredible honour’ to be appointed CEO.
“This Club has been a defining part of my life, and I feel humbled to return in the leadership role. I am deeply grateful to the Club’s ownership and Board for the trust they have placed in me and for the opportunity to serve a club that means so much to me and the community.”
Mr King will step into the new role in early 2026.
