Coles has undertaken a short-term rebranding of the Woolworths store in Grosvenor Street, Neutral Bay, following the closure of Woolworths in February this year after its lease expired.
In the meantime, Coles says shoppers will be greeted with a familiar layout in the temporary store, which will include fresh goods baked in-store, hot meals, in-store Sushi, and fresh meat and produce.
A new Liquorland will provide beer, wine and spirits, including local products from Manly Spirits, Nomad Brewing and Lord Nelson Brewery.
The Grosvenor Street store will work with food rescue charity SecondBite to donate unsold, edible food directly to help feed those in need in the local area.
The existing parking will remain available for the community to use.
Coles said it is working with North Sydney Council on its ‘broader vision for Neutral Bay,’ which included residential dwellings above its new supermarket, public underground car parking and a public plaza. Council issued an Expression of Interest on 11 December 2024 December for a potential Grosvenor Lane Plaza, which closed on 21 February.
Sam Ilott, the regional manager, said Coles was ‘excited to refresh and bring the Grosvenor Street site to life as a rebranded Coles supermarket and Liquorland.’
“With the site set to reopen in April, our team is working tirelessly to deliver a fresh and revitalised shopping experience for the Neutral Bay community,” Mr Ilott said. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and support during this exciting transition period.”
