Two local members of parliament have been included in the NSW Coalition’s shadow ministry, announced in May.
Manly MP James Griffin has been appointed Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change and Shadow Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government. Davidson MP Matt Cross will be Shadow Assistant Minister for Transport and Roads, and Shadow Assistant Minister for Infrastructure.
Mr Griffin said: “Our team will drive the policies that make a real impact on our regions and build the case for the necessary investment in our communities, delivering infrastructure and services our state needs.
“I will be drawing on my experience as the former Minister for Environment and Heritage as I monitor the government’s response to managing our economic transition to net zero. As well as the associated challenge of providing affordable and reliable energy for households and businesses across NSW.
“I will be closely monitoring the new Government’s performance in these service areas to ensure the good work of the former Government is not lost,” Mr Griffin said.
The opposition is focussed on developing policies that support families in the face of cost-of-living pressures and support seniors in their retirement, Mr Griffin said.
Mr Cross will also assist deputy liberal leader Natalie Ward with her portfolios. Ms Ward is the newly elected deputy leader of the Liberals and a Northern Beaches local.
