Club Active Dee Why, the over 50’s gym and exercise physiology clinic, recently hosted a CPR and defib course for members.  The course, aimed to equip Club Active members with life-saving skills to respond effectively in emergency situations, saw a great turnout of members eager to learn how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator.

Former Australian Ironman champion, Guy Leech attended the event to share his personal life-saving experiences and the reason why he founded his defibrillator business, Heart 180. His presence added an inspiring and motivational element to the course, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and swift action.

Training was provided by Simple Instruction, a local organisation who provide First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation education.

In the over 50’s age group, the likelihood of witnessing someone suffer a heart attack is high. Club Active wanted to empower their members with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations and take a proactive approach to safeguarding the health and well-being of their loved ones and the broader community.
