Berrys Bay makeover has been backed up by the community. The support was made clear through its feedback on the draft master plan consultation to transform the area into a foreshore park and public space.

Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson said that the community had spoken loud and clear in the consultation, welcoming plans for the new 1.9-hectare precinct, which would also be handed back to the public years earlier than previously anticipated.

“Our accelerated plans will see Berrys Bay handed back to the community from late 2024, with work to progress even sooner now that the area is no longer required as a construction site for the Western Harbour Tunnel,” Ms Wilson said.

Transport for NSW is working to finalise the master plan, incorporating feedback received from the community and other key stakeholders.

Further consultation on concept designs for precincts one and two of Berrys Bay master plan is expected to occur in mid-2023.
