The Northern Beaches Council has extended the survey on the Streets as Shared Spaces – Avalon Beach project until 1 October 2023.
The council is currently running a trial funded through the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment’s Streets as Shared Spaces program. The program trials project for a period before making permanent changes.
Some of the main changes in Avalon include the widening of footpaths and improvement of outdoor dining areas, moving pedestrian crossings, installing planter boxes and seating and installing shade structure.
