Freestyle aerial skier – and our February cover story – Danielle Scott, 35, has scored a silver medal at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on 18 February, bringing Australia’s medal tally to three gold, two silver and one bronze.
Danielle, who grew up in Freshwater, rocked up to her fourth consecutive Olympics with a World Cup gold in her pocket but had yet to win an Olympic medal. She recently told PL that she was ‘definitely looking for a medal’ which would be the ‘icing on the cake.’
After winning silver, she told the Australian Olympics Committee (AOC) that she was ‘just so stoked.’
“I knew I had it in me and the last two Olympics were extremely heartbreaking,” Danielle told the AOC. “So, to finally put it down today, I’m just so stoked.
“To finally have this around my neck, I mean, it’s taken four Olympics and it’s been an incredible ride – a lot of highs, a lot of lows – but today I just put my heart out there, I left everything out there,” she told the AOC.
“I jumped the way I wanted to, and I’m so grateful for my team around me for getting me to this point. This just means everything.”
Defending Olympic champion Xu Mengtao (China) won gold while Xi Shao (China) won bronze.
