North Sydney will transform into a rugby lover’s paradise when the inaugural North Sydney Rugby Festival kicks off at North Sydney Oval and St Leonards Park from 30 July to 2 August.
Held over four days, the festival will feature thrilling international clashes, fan activations, family-friendly entertainment, and a vibrant celebration of community.
Headlining the action are two unmissable matchups – Classic Wallabies v British & Irish Rugby Legends on 31 July and Wallaroos v Wales on 1 August.
Fans can also watch the Wallabies v Lions game on 2 August at the official Live site.
The Festival Fan Zone in St Leonards Park will run each afternoon and evening, giving fans the chance to enjoy live entertainment, food stalls and family-friendly activities.
Meet the Classic Wallabies and British & Irish Legends squads and grab an autograph or photo. Register for the junior rugby coaching clinic with international stars. Or sing your heart out at the Karaoke Rock and Roll night to support the work of rugby charity Hearts in Rugby Union Australia.
Mayor Zoë Baker said the festival is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors, delivering a major boost to local businesses.
“This event will be a landmark moment for the community,” Mayor Baker said.
“This festival is about more than just sport – it’s about pride, connection, and showcasing North Sydney on a national stage. It’s a chance for families to come together, for local businesses to thrive, and for our community to shine.”
The event also supports council’s vision to position North Sydney Oval as a premier venue in the lead-up to the 2027 Rugby World Cup. The Oval has already been named an official Live Site for the Wallabies vs. Lions series.
