Logan Howes of South Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club is Australia’s under 17 male champion lifesaver, winning at the Australian Champion Lifesaver event recently held in Western Australia.
Often regarded as the ‘pentathlon’ of lifesaving, this event involves testing the ‘physical, lifesaving and knowledge skills’ of each competitor.
Logan last won the under 15 Australian event in 2021. Zoe Burke and Bryon Cahill placed second in their respective age groups.
The results topped off a ‘remarkable’ season for South Curl Curl SLSC, with nine of its competitors competing in the event. To compete in this closed event, a competitor must be placed either first or second in their respective state championships.
The team also included Chanelle Humel, Edie Mulvey, Amanda Cannon, Naomie Humel, Luca Stein and Zara Howes.
