Northern Beaches council is inviting the community to have their say on the draft Brookvale Structure Plan, to assist with the future development for Brookvale.
According to council, the plan aims to create a vibrant precinct that supports job growth in professional, industrial and creative businesses, provide more diverse housing options, improve the Pittwater Road strip and increase community and green space.
The draft plan divides Brookvale into five sub-precincts, each with its own character, focus and proposed changes.
Part of the plan will seek to support and cultivate Brookvale’s new night-time economy while maintaining industrial zones for the local manufacturing sector.
The plan also proposes to provide more housing supply with five per cent of affordable houses – that is owned by council in perpetuity.
The Brookvale Structure Plan will be available for community feedback until 28 February.
