The Dee Why B-Line has had its ‘Yellow Wiggle’ defibrillator stolen, and police are urging residents to come forward if they have any information.

According to Northern Beaches Police Area Command (PAC), the automated external defibrillator (AED) was stolen by an unknown person between 9 February and 20 March from a stand at the B-Line bus stop on Pittwater Rd (near Saint David Street). This particular AED was one of many installed across the area by Northern Beaches Council and former yellow Wiggle Greg Page’s program Heart of the Nation in 2023.

Northern Beaches PAC has said that a GPS tracker on the defibrillator indicated it was at Raglan St, Manly. Police searched the vicinity of the GPS location and could not find the defibrillator.

“These devices are installed in high pedestrian traffic locations and are available to the community at great cost to the Council for medical emergencies,” said Detective Chief Inspector Michael Boutouridis. “Not for personal use.”

If anyone has information about the theft of the AED, they are urged to contact the Dee Why Police station on 9971 3399 or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
