After 145 days, Liberal candidate for Bradfield Gisele Kapterian has confirmed she has ceased her challenge in the Court of Disputed Returns, with Independent MP Nicolette Boele releasing a statement thanking the people of her electorate for their support.

“This means I will continue to have the honour of representing the people of Bradfield as their Federal Member of Parliament,” read Ms Boele’s statement.

“Serving this community is the privilege of my lifetime, and I do not take this responsibility lightly. I will continue to serve with integrity, care, and dedication.

“Being part of this process has given me an even greater appreciation for the safeguards we have in place, and the value of every single vote. While we watch checks and balances erode in other countries, our electoral and judicial processes are something we can genuinely celebrate here at home.”

Ms Kapterian released her own statement, where she wished Ms Boele ‘all the best in the role’ and thanked the people of Bradfield for the opportunity.

Ms Boele is already looking to the future of her electorate and actions she must take, as she explained in her statement: “Already, together we have worked on more than 900 constituent cases, from NDIS and visa support to local infrastructure and housing policy, as well as pushing the government in Canberra on climate action and cost of living. There is much work to do and I look forward to getting it done.”
