The WIRES Annual Wildlife Photography Competition is back — and this year it’s more special than ever, as WIRES celebrates 40 years of wildlife rescue and care.
Whether you’re a seasoned photographer, a nature lover, or someone who captured a magical moment with a native animal, WIRES wants to see your best shots!
There’s also a chance that your image could be featured in the WIRES 2026 Wildlife Calendar, a special 40th anniversary edition, with all proceeds directly supporting wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and recovery efforts across Australia. The competition opened on 7 July and closes on 20 July.
To ensure your photos are eligible for publication in the WIRES 2026 calendar, please ensure they are high-resolution and of print quality. You can submit up to 10 photographs per entry, so choose your best shots!
