Come along and enjoy summer afternoons over five weekends of live music and entertainment for the whole family.

Get ready to groove, Sydney! The Twilight at Taronga summer concert series is back and it promises to be five weekends of pure musical magic. The series runs from 2 February to 2 March, but don’t wait to get your tickets to this very popular yearly event.

Set against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour, this iconic event promises an unforgettable experience filled with music, entertainment and stunning sunset views.

The stage will be graced by some of Australia’s most beloved musicians, including the soulful Meg Mac, the talented John Butler, melancholic pop masters Ball Park Music, folk heroes The Waifs, and the Australian Rock Collective, featuring members of Spiderbait, Powderfinger, Jet and You am I.

Andy Kelly, one of the series curators, says that each event is unique to give people a fantastic experience in an incredible environment.

“The beautiful rolling green grass down to the stage is set against the backdrop of the Harbor Bridge, the Opera House and the city skyline,” Andy explains. “You can only have this experience in Sydney. And as the sun sets, it’s a magical place to watch music and be with your family and friends. We want people to have a fantastic time, whatever act they come to see.”

The Whitlams will wrap up the series, featuring The Living End’s Scott Owen on bass.

The lineup also features some fantastic crowd favourites, including the much-anticipated return of Bjorn Again, who will be belting out ABBA’s biggest hits. Comedy lovers can look forward to the Comedy Gala with Celia Pacquola, Ivan Aristeguieta and MC Daniel Connell.

The Drag Gala will be another highlight, headlined by the extraordinary Karen From Finance and Art Simone, Spankie Jackson and several other fabulous queens.

James Morrison will take the audience on a musical journey, starting with the classic swinging jazz of the James Morrison Quartet and ending with the fantastic vibes of his new Soul Band.

Children will enjoy the Lil’ Twilight 10am shows, with the delightful Emma Memma of Wiggles fame sharing her love for dance and movement. Zindzi and The Zillionaires will put on a family-friendly RNB party that everyone can enjoy.

Andy encourages everyone to bring picnic blankets to sit on the grass. “Everything you need is there. There will be food stalls and drinks.”

The Taronga Zoo has also made all the arrangements to keep their animals comfortable during the series. “Over the 25 years that Twilight has been on, there have been no instances of the animals being distressed, which is fantastic,” Andy declares. “Regular zoo staff will be there with all the animals during each performance, ensuring they’re not bothered and comfortable.”

Taronga is a not-for-profit organisation and all proceeds contribute to the zoo’s ongoing conservation efforts and support Taronga’s Litter Free Oceans initiative.

“Litter Free Oceans is about protecting marine life and oceans,” Andy says. “It’s about making people aware that most of the ocean’s litter comes from items generally designed just to be used once, like plastic straws or takeaway containers.

“A big part of the message that we try to incorporate into these shows is becoming aware of that and the things people can do daily to cut down on disposable waste ending up in our waterways.”

Twilight at Taronga 2024 promises to be an event that captures the heart and soul of Sydney, taking place in the intimate natural amphitheatre within Taronga Zoo, offering breathtaking views from every seat.
