A major renewal of Mosman Square and the adjoining Village Green has begun. The plan is to improve spaces for events, markets, outdoor dining, increase lighting and accessibility, play equipment for children, and moveable furniture.

The upgrade will retain the historical aspects of the square and the village, while the new elements will provide additional interest and opportunities for visitors.

It will also include environmental features such as the utilisation of water-sensitive urban design and environmentally friendly materials.

Those works would be completed in three stages from Military Road towards the Village Green to minimise the impact on the community and businesses.

The project will also use consistent materials to improve small-scale repairs and changes, which have been undertaken since the square’s construction in 1988.

Markets will not run in Mosman Square for the duration of work but will return as soon as the works are completed.
