Deputy Mayor of North Sydney Council Godfrey Santer has been announced as the NSW Labor candidate for the electorate of the North Shore in the upcoming state election.

Godfrey is passionate about improving conditions for healthcare workers and those seeking medical attention, particularly at Royal North Shore Hospital and other local facilities.

After twelve years of a Liberal Government, he has witnessed the impact of the Government embarking on mega-projects such as the Beaches Link with little community consultation and welcomes NSW Labor’s commitment to scrap the project and redirect funding.

The Deputy Mayor says he welcomes Labor’s commitment to bring back domestic manufacturing which aims to ensure transport services are back to the standard residents expect.

“I love this community, but for the past twelve years I have seen the impact of the Liberal Government taking our healthcare workers for granted, embarking on major projects without local consultation and failing to address the housing affordability crisis which is acute in our community,” he said.

“While the Liberal Party takes voters for granted, Labor has a plan for housing, for healthcare and for infrastructure.”

Santer claims NSW and the North Shore need change, that only a NSW Labor government can deliver.
