A new pedestrian and cycle bridge on Pittwater Road has connected communities one step and ride at a time as Northern Beaches council announces the completion of Narrabeen Bridge.

Council says Narrabeen Lagoon has long been held as one of the Beaches greatest assets not only with its beautiful outlook, abundance of wildlife, cultural heritage, historical icons and now the completion of its missing link.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the support of the NSW government to complete the Narrabeen Bridge project allows both pedestrians and cyclists to ride freely without the hazard of running or cycling through a bottleneck.

“Shared paths are a crucial part of our planning and is not only good for our health, the environment and reducing traffic congestion, but it creates more accessibility to our villages and town centres,” Mayor Regan said.

Member for Pittwater and Minister for Infrastructure and Active Transport Rob Stokes also added the cooperation between the state government and council has been brilliant throughout the project.
