Northern Beaches council has committed to a number of major achievements to the community after the latest annual report said it delivered $76.9 million in capital works projects.
In a year of many great challenges, council says it has remained focused on serving the Northern Beaches community by powering ahead to deliver the funding.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, it is understood council has completed upgrades to public amenities, local surf clubs, community centres and sporting fields across the Beaches.
Council also delivered the custom-built creative library at Manly Library which introduced new innovative programs including the Library2U home delivery service – a first of its kind in NSW.
Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the challenges of the pandemic and unprecedented rain events did little to stifle council’s progress to deliver $76.9 million in capital works projects.
“If the past year has taught us anything, it is that nothing can dampen the spirit of the Northern Beaches and together we can rise to any challenge,” Mr Regan said.
Over the 12 months, it is understood council’s efforts were recognised with more than 40 industry awards.
