NSW Roads Minister Natalie Ward announced $9m to fix Northern Beaches potholes on Friday 17 March, during a visit to Ingleside.
The funding is available immediately to Northern Beaches Council as it was not an election commitment and did not depend on the outcome of the NSW State Election.
The $9m in funding comes from a $500m NSW Government Regional and Local Road Repair Program that was a result of massive damage to roads caused by the prolonged period of wet weather and flooding.
Minister Ward said that $220m of the fund was being allocated to Sydney Councils, with the Northern Beaches Council getting $9m.
Potholes are repaired by either councils or NSW government teams depending on their location. Northern Beaches Council manages the local roads that are not major arterial corridors.
