Northern Beaches Council has unveiled two new outdoor gyms at Belrose and Forestville as part of the Glen Street open space masterplan and the Forestville sports landscape masterplan.
In addition, new fitness equipment will be added to existing outdoor recreation areas at Lionel Watts Reserve in Frenchs Forest, and Forestville War Memorial Playing Fields (Melwood Oval).
Lionel Watts is popular with locals for recreation and the new gym will entice more locals to the area, the council says. The gym has an elliptical trainer, chest press, leg press and leg raise, pull up and down bar, two box jumps, body dip station, ladder rack and roman rings.
Forestville’s gym on Melwood Oval is located between the synthetic playing fields and the tennis courts at the southern end of the park. It includes leg and chest presses, pull down, sit up benches, pull up bars, leg raise and body dip equipment, roman rings, and a ladder.
The two new gyms bring the total exercise areas on the Northern Beaches to 12.
